X-rays are often the first step in diagnostic imaging—fast, reliable, and effective for helping your provider see what’s happening inside your body. They use a small amount of radiation to capture clear images of bones and certain internal structures, making them essential for evaluating fractures, joint issues, chest or lung conditions, and more. Exams are simple, painless, and typically only take a few minutes.

Preparation
How to Prepare
- Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing (no zippers, snaps, or jewelry in the area being imaged).
- You may be asked to remove metal objects or accessories that could interfere with the image.
- Depending on the exam, you might be asked to hold your breath briefly or change positions.
- Most X-ray exams take just a few minutes to complete.
How to Schedule an X-ray
X-rays require a provider’s order. You are always welcome to schedule your X-ray appointment if you already have an order. However, no appointment is needed at our Tooele location, where walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Simply stop by with your order, and our team will complete your exam on the spot. Results are sent directly to your provider.
