Insurance

Using insurance for your imaging is easy at First Choice Imaging. We accept most major insurance plans, and our in-house authorization team works directly with your provider to make the process simple. Whether you use insurance or self-pay, our goal is the same - to help you get the best value for your scan.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept most major insurance plans. Because every plan is different, the best way to confirm your coverage and estimate your cost is to contact our clinic. Our team will verify your benefits and walk you through your options before your exam.
Do I need a provider order to use insurance?
Yes. Insurance companies require a doctor’s order before approving and covering an exam. If you don’t have an order yet, talk to your provider - they can easily send one to us so we can get your scan scheduled.
Can I use insurance for a self-referral scan?
No. Insurance cannot be billed for self-referral scans because they require a doctor’s order for approval.
Self-referral MRIs are part of our self-pay program and are paid for at the time of service. If you’d prefer to use insurance, you’ll need a provider order before scheduling. Our team can help you find the best option for your needs and your budget.
Why does my insurance estimate sometimes look higher than the self-pay price?
That difference comes from how insurance companies set their rates, not from our clinic. When billing insurance, we’re required to use the pricing that your plan has negotiated for each exam. Those rates can sometimes be higher than our direct self-pay prices, even though the scan itself is exactly the same.
We understand how confusing this can feel, and our team will always walk you through both options so you can choose the one that offers the best overall value for you.
How does your team help with prior authorization?
Our in-house authorization team works directly with your provider and insurance company to make the process easy and efficient. We handle the paperwork, communicate with your provider’s office, and confirm authorization before your appointment so you can focus on your health, not the logistics.
